Ami4kidz
Spring 2019, Needfinding, Design Thinking
I fell in love with entrepreneurship because my six-year-old brother was so “rebellious” that he refused to do anything my mom told him to do – including brushing his teeth. I thought, what if his favorite cartoon character starts talking? That was how Ami4kidz was born – we make a talking penguin plush that conveys messages for parents either immediately or as a set alarm.
How did it start?
What is Ami4kidz?
What is my role?
I co-designed Penny the Penguin, a speaking penguin plush that helps parents deliver messages to the kids in a cute and timely manner. I conducted market research with over 200 potential customers for Penny the Penguin in Massachusetts, Shanghai, and Baden Württemberg and decided on which core features to keep for our first launch. I also conducted user surveys for our first customers and updated our app interface designs based on the analysis result.
Along with my co-founders, I prepared pitch decks using PowerPoint and Canva, and gave pitches to investors and in different pitching competitions. We also presented at MIT Launch.
